This directory contains the downloadable AspGD files in the Generic
Feature Format (GFF).  These files describe features in AspGD, including 
chromosomes, ORFs, CDSs, introns, sequence gaps, intergenic regions, etc.

of the Generic Feature Format (GFF).

Current AspGD annotation:

The file 
A_nidulans_FGSC_A4_version_sXX-mYY-rZZ_features.gff  
contains the current AspGD annotation of the 
A. nidulans genome sequence. It is updated weekly.
The notation "sXX-mYY-rZZ" in the filename indicates the genome 
version to which the data in the file corresponds.

The file 
A_nidulans_FGSC_A4_version_sXX-mYY-rZZ_features_with_chromosome_sequences.gff.gz 
contains the current AspGD annotation and the current genomic sequence
of all chromosomes of the A. nidulans genome sequence. The AspGD annotations in 
this file and A_nidulans.gff above are the same. The chromosome sequences are specified 
in the "##FASTA" section at the end of this file according to GFF3 file format 
specifications (see http://song.sourceforge.net/gff3.shtml). This file is updated weekly.
The notation "sXX-mYY-rZZ" in the filename indicates the genome 
version to which the data in the file corresponds.

The file
A_nidulans_FGSC_A4_version_sXX-mYY-rZZ_intergenic.gff 
lists the intergenic regions between 
coding regions in A. nidulans chromosomes. This file also contains 
lengths of these intergenic sequences and GC and AT content of each 
intergenic region (percent GC and percent AT).
The notation "sXX-mYY-rZZ" in the filename indicates the genome 
version to which the data in the file corresponds.

The file:
Historic_features_A_nidulans_FGSC_A4_version4.gff
contains the Version 4 annotation.

The file 
Historic_A_nidulans_FGSC_A4_Broad_annotation.gff3 
contains the set of annotation released by the Broad Institute (2009).

information about this release and its incorporation into Version 5 of
the A. nidulans annotation.  Please note that this file contains the
entire set of Broad annotation, including genes that could not be
mapped to the chromosomal sequences and annotation updates that were
not accepted for inclusion in Version 5, based on the criteria
described in the Sequence Documentation.  The gene model
representation used in this GFF file differs from the style used in
other GFF files available for download; please contact us at
